My Redmine 2026 New Year Update

We will be upgrading the software provided in our Redmine cloud service, My Redmine Global Edition, from RedMica 3.2 to 4.0.

RedMica is a Redmine-compatible software developed by Far End Technologies.

RedMica 4.0 will include all features from Redmine 6.1.0, which was released on September 21, 2025 (Central European Time), as well as new features that have been committed for the next version of Redmine.

Upgrade Schedule

RedMica 4.0 will be rolled out sequentially starting in December 2025. The specific implementation date will vary for each contract (each My Redmine environment).

Service Downtime for Upgrade

  • We plan to upgrade sometime in December 2025.
  • Service will be stoppped or be very slow during the upgrade.
  • We will announce the upgrade date by email.

Upgrade Details

We will upgrade to RedMica 4.0, which was released on November 17, 2025.

Main New Feature of RedMica 4.0

  • Update colors of “Warning” and “Caution” in Markdown alerts to be consistent with ISO (redmine-43425)
  • Localize default titles in Markdown alerts (redmine-43379)
  • Introduce Open Color to unify and standardize CSS colors (redmine-43256)
  • Automatic list marker completion (redmine-43095)
  • Default Auto Watch settings for new users can be configured (redmine-42880)
  • Making the Issue History Tab Easier to Read (redmine-40744)
  • {{recent_pages}} macro: display a list of recently updated Wiki pages (redmine-38501)
  • Display user initials when Gravatar is not used (redmine-29824)
  • Enhancing API authentication: Support OAuth2 (redmine-24808)

FAQ

  • Can I continue to use my existing data?

    Yes, your data and settings will be carried over after this upgrade.

    However, please note that any customizations made with the View Customize plugin (Administration -> View customize) may not function as expected after the upgrade. Any code independently added by the customer is not covered by our support, so we ask that you make any necessary corrections yourself.

  • Will the appearance or usability change?

    While there will be no major changes to usability or the user interface, there will be minor changes due to new features.

  • Are there any procedures required for the upgrade?

    No procedures or work are required from the customer.

  • Will there be any additional charges?

    There are no additional charges, as the cost of the upgrade is included in your monthly fee.

  • What are the “My Redmine Summer Update” and “My Redmine New Year Update”?

    My Redmine conducts updates twice a year, typically around June–July and December–January. These updates include RedMica version upgrades as well as plugin and theme updates. These bi-annual updates are referred to as follows:

    • Conducted around June–July: My Redmine Summer Update
    • Conducted around December–January: My Redmine New Year Update


    These designations have been in use since November 2025.
